Kontur launched cross-border electronic document management with Kazakhstan
November 27, 2025For Kazakhstani citizens living or working abroad, an important opportunity has appeared: an electronic digital signature (EDS) can be renewed without travelling to Kazakhstan.
If the validity period of the EDS of a company founder or an individual has expired, it is sufficient to apply to the nearest consulate or embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This is permitted by law; however, the specific procedure may vary slightly depending on the country of residence.
How to proceed
- Contact the nearest consulate or embassy of Kazakhstan.
- Clarify the list of required documents and the renewal procedure.
The main thing to remember is that a valid EDS is necessary for access to banking, tax and government online services. Without it, it is impossible to submit reports, sign documents or manage a company remotely.
Practical tip
Check the validity period of your EDS in advance. It is better to renew it ahead of time than to face blocked access at the most inconvenient moment.
This measure is another step towards ensuring that the digital identity of citizens of Kazakhstan functions worldwide.
